Pentiment was a gallery-wide installation, featuring precisely calibrated lights such to project silhouette shadows and abstract color onto the walls, in the shape of both text and figures. It consists of two sub-works– the free-standing painted diptych “Synthesis” and the floating text-based “Disclosures”. The lighting was very low, just enough to see the works and enact the projections. Depending on the viewer's movements and position, the images would appear differently– either revealing aspects or the order of their construction, or appearing as complete images. This work was designed to be experienced in-person, so as to experience these variously angled viewpoints.
