Six floating chiffon panels, supported to the gallery only by the two D-rings that the line from which they are hanging was tied. The panels were dye-sublimation printed, using images scanned from a copy of Gender Trouble, which I am illuminating with allegorical images of my experiences. Text from a personal narrative was written onto the panels with a transparent substance that blocked the passage of light, creating the projection of text that was only visible from certain angles. Because the panels were unmoored at the bottom, they would move in response to a viewer's movements; anyone trying to read the panels would have to wait for them to resume their original drape, if they moved close enough to see the text.
LED lights, dye-sublimation printed chiffon, transparent medium, text from personal narrative, pages from Judith Butler's Gender Trouble, Gel pens, paracord, D-rings
